Italian-style pickled vegetables under the Casa Visco brand name are being recalled because labels fail to mention that they may contain sulfites.
The recall, announced Tuesday by Viscusi Wholesale Grocers Inc. of Schenectady, involves 16- and 32-ounce glass jars of Casa Visco Italian Style Giardinera, a mixture of cauliflower, carrots and other vegetables.
The jars might contain sodium sulfite, a preservative that could cause a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction in people who are sensitive to it.
The recall includes only jars labeled "Italian Style" Giardinera.
To obtain a refund, consumers may return the product to the place where they bought it.
