POLICE PROBING SHOOTINGS THAT WOUNDED TWO MEN

Police were frustrated Tuesday night in their investigation of a Dodge Street shooting when the victim refused to cooperate. Meanwhile, officers continued to scour the West Side for two men who were involved in a shooting on Plymouth Avenue.

The investigations into both shootings continued today, but no arrests have been made.

Detectives from the Major Case Squad investigated a 5 p.m. Tuesday shooting in a driveway at 487 Dodge St. The victim, who was shot in the leg, apparently was taken to Erie County Medical Center by two other men in a vehicle. Detective Sgt. Philip Torre said the victim maintained that he wasn't wounded on Dodge Street, contradicting witnesses at the scene.

Torre said police still are trying to contact relatives of the victim, and they have not released his name. A recovered shell casing at the scene indicated that the man was shot with a .45-caliber weapon.

Shorty after 7 p.m. Tuesday, a man was shot in the right hand and right leg by two men on bicycles in front of 94 Plymouth Ave. The victim, Tahrois Baity, told police that his two assailants fired at least six rounds at him and witnesses. .

The wounds of the victims in both cases are not considered life-threating.
