MOORE SHINES IN HERD LOSS

Despite a solid outing by starter Marcus Moore, the Buffalo Bisons dropped a 6-1 decision to the Richmond Braves at the Disney Complex.

Moore scattered six hits over six innings and allowed two runs, but only one earned. John Cummings gave up four runs in two innings.

Buffalo's lone run came on Troy Kent's RBI double. Richie Sexson also doubled in his first game since returning from an exhibition trip to Atlanta and Las Vegas with the Cleveland Indians.

The Bisons (2-8-1), who have lost four straight, meet the New Orleans Zephyrs (Houston) today at 1 in Kissimmee.

In roster news, the Tribe sent left-handed relievers Tom Martin and Ron Villone to Buffalo and has designated catcher Einar Diaz for assignment.

Cleveland wants Diaz to be Buffalo's every day catcher, but he is out of minor-league options. Thus, he must clear waivers before playing for Buffalo.
