Martin A. VeRost, 82, of Lower River Road, co-founder and president of Ross Steel Erection Corp., died Monday (March 30, 1998) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness.
A native of Hawk Run, Pa., VeRost moved to Niagara Falls more than 55 years ago and to Youngstown in 1972. He and his brother, the late Drew VeRost, founded Ross Steel in 1939.
VeRost served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Niagara Falls.
His wife, the former Kathleen O'Connor, died in 1981.
Surviving are two sons, Drew M. of Sanborn and David O. of Youngstown; two daughters, Vicki Kirby of California and Paula of Phoenix; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, with prayers at 9 in Otto Redanz LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road, Town of Niagara. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
