MAN CONVICTED OF BURGLARY IN ALLENTOWN BREAK-IN

A North Pearl Street man was found guilty of burglary Monday after picking the wrong Allentown house to enter.

Following a three-day trial before Erie County Judge Timothy J. Drury, Gregory Hill, 38, was found guilty as charged of second-degree burglary for the April 22 College Street break-in.

Hill faces a prison term of three to 15 years when he is sentenced May 20.

He and an unidentified accomplice broke into the home, which had been burglarized about seven hours earlier. He was cornered by the occupant of the home, a 27-year-old man who was home at the time, as was his sleeping wife and baby daughter.
