Singer Meredith Brooks was driven off the stage in Argentina late Monday by a restless audience which threw bottles, batteries and coins as it chanted for the night's main act, the Rolling Stones.
Brooks, 39, from Oregon, managed to sing only two out of a planned 10 songs before she gave up trying to placate the 30,000 people in the River Plate soccer stadium, local media reported.
The audience chanted "Come on, Stones" and some threw bottles filled with water, batteries and coins at Brooks as she sang her hit song "Bitch."
Brooks, who was nominated for a Grammy as Best Female Rock Vocalist, also had a rough reception in the first Argentine concert of the Rolling Stones' "Bridges of Babylon" tour Sunday.
In an attempt to win the audience over, she came on stage Monday dressed in an Argentine national soccer shirt, but the crowd was not impressed.
