PAUL G. MAROHN DIES; BUFFALO POLICE OFFICER

Paul G. Marohn of Arcade, a Buffalo police officer for 36 years, died March 5, 1998, in Maplewood Health Center, Cheektowaga, after a long illness. He was 89.

Born in Arlington, Ohio, he settled in Buffalo and joined the Police Department in 1936.

Marohn was a member of Lodge 1942, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Amherst; the Kensington Businessmen's Association; Ismailia Shrine Temple; and Casimer Lodge, F&AM.

He also was a life member of the International Police Association.

He was widowed twice. He was married to Mary Brown Olsen Marohn and Doris Schlager Marohn.

Survivors include three sons, Gerald and Donald, both of Depew, and John; a daughter, Mary Lou Nolan of Lackawanna; and three stepdaughters, Janet Przybyl, Joanne Krawczyk and Cathy Freeman.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Townline Lutheran Church, Townline Road, Alden.
