Services for Donald A. Foss, 75, a longtime Wales-area dairy farmer, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wood Funeral Home, 784 Main St., East Aurora. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Wales Center.
Foss died March 12, 1998, in Shands Hospital, Citra, Fla., of injuries suffered in an auto accident.
He was born in the Town of Wales and attended elementary school in Wales Center. He graduated from East Aurora High School in 1941 and lived and worked on the family dairy farm for more than 40 years.
In 1969, he began his own business, Foss Tree Digging Service. He was particularly helpful to friends and neighbors and on two occasions took in the livestock from neighboring farms when the owners' barns were lost in fires.
He was a member of the Wales Center Kiwanis Club and the Wales Center Historical Society. For many years, he bowled in various leagues at Strykersville Lanes.
Survivors include his wife, the former Susan V. Rumley; two daughters, Gloria Kaminski of Pilot Mountain, N.C., and Shirley Cyrek of Depew; a son, James of South Wales; a brother, Rudolph, of Boone, N.C.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
