CENTRAL PARK ENTERS DISNEY'S WORLD AS 1,300 TEENS TOUT NEW THEME PARK

Central Park's Sheep Meadow became an outpost of the Magic Kingdom as 1,300 teen-agers in colorful capes twirled about and marched in formation to create giant animal shapes for a Walt Disney Co. promotional video.

The event, staged Sunday to promote a new Disney theme park in Florida, had some normally blase New Yorkers interrupting their biking, jogging and in-line skating to gawk at the spectacle.

"Lots of smiles!" director Judy Chabola bellowed over a public-address system as the teens arranged themselves in patterns resembling a lion, a dinosaur and a dragon. "Lots of energy! Have a good time and do your best!"

The video, produced by Disney, was filmed from a helicopter hovering above the park. It is to air during Walt Disney World television specials to promote the April 22 opening of Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park near Orlando, Fla.
