Motorists will face a new restriction in the City of Tonawanda starting Wednesday when work begins to replace the Fremont Street bridge over Ellicott Creek.
Traffic lanes will be narrowed on Young Street near the bridge and parking will be eliminated on both sides of Young Street between Fremont and Benton streets, the state Department of Transportation reports. The bridge will be closed to pedestrians.
Nichols, Long and Moore Construction Corp. of Lancaster is contractor for the $1.2 million project. Work is expected to be completed in December.
