POLICE SUBDUE WOMAN WHO RESISTS REMOVAL

A woman was pepper-sprayed, handcuffed, and placed in leg irons when she battled with police trying to remove from a Roosevelt Drive home early Sunday, Officer Dennis C. Sobieraski said.

Sandy L. Ackroyd, 46, of 6728 Akron Road was charged at 2:26 a.m. with second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.

Sobieraski said Ms. Ackroyd was the subject of an unwanted person complaint at 9 Roosevelt Drive. He said the woman struggled with him and Officer Kevin P. Newman, kicked them, and tried to bite them.
