MOTHER HELD IN SHOOTING AT BED

A woman is being held in Chautauqua County Jail after she allegedly shot a .22-caliber rifle into the bed where her son was sleeping Saturday afternoon.

Janice M. Fields, 58, of 2737 Straight Road was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies, who were called to the home for a domestic dispute at 3:15 p.m., said Mrs. Fields' son, Jeremy C., told them his mother fired into the bed where he was sleeping.

Deputies recovered the rifle and an expended round of ammunition from the home.
