A man suffered a large cut on the back of his head early Saturday when he was hit with a brick in a Third Street tavern, Officer David Cudahy said.
Brian J. Casler, 28, of 72nd Street received 10 staples in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to close the wound, Cudahy said.
The attack occurred at 1:49 a.m. in Sharks Club, 455 Third St., when a 23-year-old man approached him, accused him of bothering his girlfriend and hit him in the head with a brick after he denied the accusation and turned to walk away, Cudahy said.
The man then tried to hit him again, but Casler blocked the blow with his forearm. His assailant fled before police arrived, Cudahy said.
