Isabelle Gaglione, 86, formerly of Eggertsville, a secretary for many years for the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, died Friday (March 27, 1998) after a brief illness in Skyview Health Center, Croton-on-Hudson.
Born in Buffalo she was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph High School and Bryant & Stratton Business Institute.
She worked for the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce and the Catholic newspaper.
She was a secretary for the diocese until 1994, when she retired at the age of 83.
She also did volunteer work for Catholic Charities.
She enjoyed bowling, playing the organ, reading and attending the Buffalo Philharmonic.
She was a member of the Sultanas of Cordova Buffalo Chapter, Senecal of the Trinity Fathers, Lamda Phi Gamma Sorority and the Altar and Rosary societies of many parishes.
She was awarded the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medal from Pope John Paul II.
Survivors include a son, Franklin of Putnam Valley; a sister, Beatrice McClean; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday St. Aloysius Church, 157 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga, after prayers at 9:45 in Amigone Funeral Home, 569 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga. Burial will be in United German and French Cemetery, Cheektowaga.[chrstn]
