Gerald P. Breen, 63, of Orchard Park, a retired general foreman of Bethlehem Steel Corp., died Thursday (March 26, 1998) in Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness.
A graduate of St. Francis High School in 1952, he worked at Bethlehem Steel most of his working life until his retirement in 1984.
He was a member of the Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Usher Society and Holy Name Society, the United States Power Squadron of Hamburg and Father Baker Council, Knights of Columbus, in Lackawanna.
He enjoyed golf and sailing.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, the former Catherine M. Leary; two sons, Gerald J. of West Seneca and Peter J. of Rochester; a daughter, Mary Catherine Popovski of Lake View; two sisters, Jacqueline Schultz of Lackawanna and Elizabeth Lancon of Maryland; a brother, William of the Town of Boston; and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, S-3148 Abbott Road, Orchard Park, after prayers at 8:15 in the Lombardo Funeral Home, 3060 Abbott Road near Lake Avenue, Orchard Park. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna.[chrstn]
