The Jamestown Planning Commission on Thursday wrapped up work on a new citywide zoning ordinance that details a comprehensive plan setting basic directions for the city.
"There are two parts to this effort which we have been at for several years," Commission Chairman Robert Barber said. "The first is the comprehensive plan, which sets basic directions for the community and is now before the council. The zoning ordinance really sets out specifics for which part of the city is residential and which is commercial and industrial and so on."
The City Council is expected to vote on the comprehensive plan next month.
