DRUNKEN DRIVER GETS 16 MONTHS

Niagara County Judge Charles J. Hannigan Friday sentenced a Niagara Falls man who pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide and DWI.

He was charged in the Aug. 13, 1997, death of a motorcyclist in a Niagara Falls traffic accident.

Patrick J. Harrigan, 34, of 18th Street was ordered to serve 16 months to four years in prison on the criminally negligent homicide count and was fined $500 for driving while intoxicated.

He was accused of driving out of a parking lot and cutting in front of oncoming traffic, causing David F. Rotella's motorcycle to strike his vehicle broadside. Rotella died as a result of the accident.
