BOY FACES CHARGES FOR AIMING RIFLE

A 12-year-old boy faces action in Genesee County Family Court after he allegedly aimed an unloaded rifle at an Akron Central School District bus, State Police disclosed Friday.

The bus was carrying a single passenger along Bloomingdale Road late Wednesday afternoon when the driver saw a youth point a gun at the back of it as it crossed the Tonawanda Creek bridge, police said.

An investigation determined the youth had been in the company of a 15-year-old friend who owns the .22-caliber rifle and that they had been target practicing along the creek on the Tonawanda Indian Reservation, police.

The youths' parents cooperated with the investigation, and as a result, the rifle was surrendered to police custody.
