An Ontario woman was injured when a rock apparently smashed the windshield of the tractor-trailer her husband was driving on the Niagara Thruway late Thursday night, state police said.
Joan Mary Bacon, 49, of Barrie, Ont. refused treatment after suffering neck and facial cuts in the 9:50 p.m. incident, troopers said. Her husband, Clarence, was heading north on the Niagara Thruway, near Niagara Street, when a rock apparently was thrown from a nearby residential area.
Troopers worked with Buffalo police and Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority officers in an unsuccessful attempt to find whoever threw the rock.
