3 HELD AFTER JAMESTOWN DRUG RAID

Complaints from neighbors led to a drug raid at 419 Lincoln St. Wednesday night.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and Jamestown police got a warrant to search the upstairs apartment in that building after agents allegedly made an undercover crack cocaine purchase there from Benjamin W. Shury, 21, of Dunkirk.

Shury was there during the 9:45 p.m. raid, along with Michael Walker, 21, of Cleveland, and James Lewis, 18, of Buffalo, police said. Officers said Shury was arrested without incident, but Walker and Lewis ran to the back of the apartment and tried to escape through a window before they were caught.

With help from Jake the drug-sniffing dog, agents found 54 bags of crack cocaine and 17 bags of marijuana. The drugs were valued at $3,000.

All three were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Shury also was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
