The Tonawanda City Council has awarded a $1,076,000 contract to Bisone Construction of Depew for replacement of water lines and reconstruction of four streets. The job also includes sidewalk replacement, tree removal and handicapped access improvements.

The work, scheduled to start in early April, will involve Kohler, Hill, Catherine and Grand streets.

The Council awarded the contract to Bisone despite a bid of about $75,000 less from C. Destro Development of West Seneca. That firm's performance on a previous project was considered unsatisfactory, according to City Engineer
William Price.
