FOOD DRIVE -- Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will conduct their joint annual food drive in Erie County and Western Niagara County the next two Saturdays, March 28 and April 4.

The Scouts will distribute grocery bags throughout their neighborhoods this Saturday and pick them up, hopefully filled with non-perishable food items, on April 4. The items collected will be distributed to food pantries and food banks in the neighborhoods of the scout units.

Grocery bags and other services are being provided by Tops Friendly Markets, Perry's Ice Cream and Campbell's Soup. Last year, Scouts collected 312,000 food items in Western New York. . . .

COMMITTEE ACTION -- More than 160 persons have signed up for Friday's First Annual Dinner and Cabaret sponsored by Buffalo's six sister-city committees to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in St. Anthony's Catholic Church Social Center, 160 Court St., Buffalo.

The six sister cities are Siena, Italy; Tver, Russia; Lille, France; Dortmund, Germany; Kanazawa, Japan, and Rzesczow, Poland.

Each committee is participating by making the following contributions: Table arrangements, Kanazawa; pianist, Tver; host arrangements, Siena; sound system, Dortmund; Polish dancers, Rzesczow, and wine, Lille.
