George J. Hilliker Jr. of North Tonawanda, a retired Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. employee, died Sunday (March 22, 1998) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after apparently suffering a heart attack. He was 60.
A Buffalo native, Hilliker graduated from Bishop Fallon High School in 1956. He served in the Navy from 1958 to 1962 and worked for Niagara Mohawk from 1963 until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of Local 1357, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, serving as vice president from 1980 to 1983 and from 1984 to 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Monique Duffy of Jacksonville, Fla., and Renee Hilliker-Smith; his father, George J. Sr.; and a sister, Barbara DiNatale.
A cousin, Monsignor Henry Gugino, will offer a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Margaret's Catholic Church, 1395 Hertel Ave., after prayers at 8:45 in Perna Funeral Home, 1306 Hertel Ave. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
