A suspended Catholic priest who lost a $119.6 million lawsuit over molestation allegations pleaded guilty Tuesday to three counts of sexually abusing altar boys.
The Rev. Rudolph Kos, 52, entered the plea at the start of his criminal trial.
Father Kos could be sentenced to two to 20 years in prison for pleading guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child.
The $119.6 million verdict returned against the Catholic Diocese of Dallas and Father Kos after the civil trial last summer was the largest monetary judgment of any clergy sex-abuse case in U.S. history. The lawsuit alleged that Father Kos molested altar boys from 1981 to 1992 and that church officials covered it up.
