A man was charged today with setting at least one of four small fires Tuesday in a Wal-Mart and the Marketpace Mall, which was evacuated when someone called in a bomb threat.
Scott O'Hara, 29, was questioned by police Tuesday and arraigned today in Henrietta Town Court.
Four small fires and a bomb scare, all within a 70-minute period, forced authorities to shut the mall for a time Tuesday.
A few minutes after the initial bomb threat, the culprits called 911 again and said that the bomb would explode.
The first fire was set just before 3 p.m. at Wal-Mart, outside the mall. The other fires were set inside Sears and a second store, and in a garbage bin outside Kaufmann's department store.
The mall was closed from 3 to 6 p.m., and Wal-Mart was closed until 7 p.m. Many of the mall stores, however, never reopened Tuesday night.
