PUPIL ARRESTED IN ATTACK AND THREAT AT SCHOOL

An eighth-grader who allegedly punched another pupil in the mouth and then threatened to assault teachers and the principal of School 19 Tuesday was arrested by police, authorities said.

Following the attack, the "out-of-control" boy ran from the classroom screaming, school officials said.

Police Officer Avery Nelson, who was called to the West Delavan Avenue school at about 10 a.m., took the youngster directly to Erie County Family Court, where he was taken into custody as a person in need of supervision.
