Martha M. Bump, 93, an Angola resident and retired teacher, died Sunday (March 22, 1998) in St. Petersburg, Fla., after a brief illness.
The former Martha Pratt was born in the Village of Wyoming and taught elementary school in the Lake Shore Central School District for 21 years.
She was an honorary deaconess at First Congregational United Church of Christ, where she was past superintendent of the Sunday school. She also was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was the widow of Harold Bump.
Survivors include a son, Elton W. of St. Petersburg and a daughter, Beverly Ann Boebel of Hamburg.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Congregational United Church of Christ, 132 N. Main St., Angola. Burial in the spring will be in Forest Avenue Cemetery, Angola.
