The Village of Lakewood Board has set a budget hearing for April 13.

Mayor Anthony Caprino is calling for a $2.95 million spending plan which would cut the tax rate by 3.4 percent.

After the board reviewed the proposal Monday night, Caprino said "they seemed pretty well satisfied with it, but we will have to wait until after the public hearing for further comments."

The 25-cent cut in the tax rate is coming from a $48,000 reduction in spending, a $20,000 increase in sales tax revenue, and a $120,000 cut in the fund balance.
