State Education Commissioner Richard Mills be in Genesee County Thursday to visit two schools and to meet with education and community groups.

Mills is scheduled for an 11 a.m. stop at Le Roy Central School, Trigon Park, Le Roy. At 1 p.m., he will visit Pavilion Central School, Route 63, Pavilion. Both schools recently received high state report card results in the socioeconomic category.

The commissioner also will participate in a discussion on school-to-work opportunities at 3:30 p.m. at the Board of Cooperative Education Services Batavia Campus, 8250 State St., Batavia.

He will explain the state's strategic plan to restructure curriculum during a dinner meeting with the Genesee Valley School Boards Association and community representatives at 6 p.m. in Christina's Restaurant, 230 Ellicott St., Batavia.
