A tractor-trailer caught fire Monday in the Town of Lockport Industrial Park, doing $80,000 damage to the tractor unit, Deputy
Timothy E. Callaghan said.
The vehicle, belonging to Huebner and Sons Trucking Co. of Boonville, Ind., caught fire at the loading dock of Polycom Huntsman Inc. at 9:10 a.m. Driver Vincent Dimock of Evansville, Ind., told Callaghan that he left the vehicle running and went to talk to another driver for five minutes, and when he returned the tractor was engulfed in flames.
South Lockport Fire Company volunteers under Chief Robert Conn extinguished the fire without injury. Callaghan said there was only minor damage to the 102-by-48-foot trailer.
