Robert C. Turner, 76, of Amherst, a retired General Motors employee who served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War, died unexpectedly Saturday (March 21, 1998) in Buffalo General Hospital.

A native of Buffalo, he spent much of his life in the Tonawandas. He had worked for the GM Chevrolet Division at its River Road plant.

Turner was a member of Tonawandas Post 264, American Legion, and Tonawanda Lodge 247, F&AM.

Surviving are his wife, Eva Buckanovich Turner; two sons, Richard of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Brad of Cheektowaga; daughter, Trudy Merril of Mont-eagle, Tenn.; a stepson, Ronald Buckanovich of Holland; a stepdaughter, Deborah Buckanovich of Amherst; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.

Services will be held at noon Wednesday in John O. Roth Funeral Home, Morgan and William streets, City of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
