WHEATFIELD -- Marion E. Buscemi, 74, of Plaza Drive, a cashier and school cafeteria aide, died Saturday (March 21, 1998) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness.
The former Marion Gruppo was born in Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1942.
She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at the former Trincanati Electric Co. For the past 10 years, she was a cashier at Mom's Family Restaurant and worked in the cafeteria at Hyde Park Elementary School, where she was known as "Mrs. B."
Mrs. Buscemi enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She donated her work to various charitable organizations.
Her husband, Richard L., died in 1975. They had married Sept. 17, 1946, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Niagara Falls, where she remained a parishioner.
Survivors include a son, Leonard of Arlington, Va.; two daughters, Patricia Catanese of the Town of Niagara and MaryEllen Halm of Elmira; her brother, Neil M. Gruppo of Lewiston; five sisters, Connie Barber and Mae Trapasso, both of Lewiston, and Josephine Caprio, Dolores Brigante, and Nancy Travis, all of Niagara Falls; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, preceded by prayers at 8:45 in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St., Niagara Falls. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls.
