Leonard "Spike" Coulter, 85, of Ridge Road, a retired reliability project engineer at the former Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors Corp., died Sunday (March 22, 1998) in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo.
A native of Niagara Falls, he had worked at Harrison for 41 years before his retirement in 1974. He was a member of Local 686, United Auto Workers Retirees.
A 48-year member of the Gasport Lions Club, he was honored with the Life Membership Award and the Melvin Jones Award, the highest honor given by the Lions. He also was a member of Aerie 825, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lockport, for 14 years.
A member of a championship euchre team, his hobbies also included hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, the former Helen Murtaugh; a son, John E. of Lewiston; a daughter, Barbara Wheat of Lockport; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
