Prince Charles may be heir to the British throne, but attention is expected to focus on Prince William when he and his brother Harry accompany their father on a visit to Canada this week.
The three are scheduled to arrive in British Columbia today for a six-day visit that will largely be spent skiing -- or snow boarding -- at a resort in Whistler north of Vancouver. Charles and his sons have vacationed together since the death of their mother Princess Diana in August.
"Royal Test for Prince William," said a headline in the Vancouver Province Sunday, quoting royal watchers as saying the big question for the trip was which events William, 15, would attend with his father. The schedule calls for only one joint appearance -- a Pacific Marine Heritage Legacy reception Tuesday in Vancouver.
Local newspapers have agreed not to violate the princes' request for privacy while at Whistler. The British press has been subdued in its coverage of William and Harry, 13, since Diana's death last August.
