I'm writing about the Freschi-Lin bridge plan. Could we just have a bridge -- not an amusement park ride? A recent description made my head spin: "a spectacular experience . . . looking into thin air . . . a single pylon." Good grief!
Who wants the bridge to be the tallest structure around? This plan will change the dynamics of sky and water, which are now so pleasing. It is really unsettling to read someone's prediction about what the "experience" of the motorist will be. Many other factors enter such an equation. I, for one, do not want to become suspended in this particular architect's "cone of vision."
