SEX ABUSER HELD ON MEGAN'S LAW

A woman who was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing two young girls in 1991 in her Amherst day care center was arrested Saturday on charges of failing to register with city police under Megan's Law.

Susan Zingaro, 36, of Roselle Avenue, former operator of Susie's We Care Day Care, was charged with failure to register her address with police in violation of the Sex Offender Registration Act, Detective Alan F. Brooks said.

Brooks said he and Detective William Thomson arrested Mrs. Zingaro at 11 a.m. at her new residence after she failed to inform the Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda police about her March 4 move from North Tonawanda to Niagara Falls.

A convicted sex offender must file a notification of a change of address 10 days before moving, Brooks said.

Mrs. Zingaro was sentenced to 1 2/3 to 5 years in prison Feb. 10, 1992, after she pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated sexual abuse in connection with her arrest in summer 1991 on charges of abusing two 2-year-old girls at her state-licensed day-care center.
