Ronald J. Bauer, 36, of Rhode Island Avenue, an auto mechanic, was pronounced dead on arrival Thursday (March 19, 1998) at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo after he was struck by a car while crossing Niagara Street at Rainbow Boulevard South in Niagara Falls.

Bauer, born in Niagara Falls, was a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School in Sanborn.

He worked as an auto mechanic for his father, Joseph W. Sr., at the former Joe's Auto Wrecking.

In addition to his father, Bauer is survived by his mother, Minnie; two brothers, Joseph W. Jr. of Niagara Falls and Roger A.; three sisters, Carol A. Tuttle of Wilson, Alice L. Edwards and Diana Strassburg; and a dear friend, June Bird.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cornell & Daggett Funeral Chapel, 2215 Military Road. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.[nfschr]
