Mary "Lou" Louise Ventry, a former Niagara-Wheatfield school monitor and bus driver, died Wednesday (Dec. 31, 1997) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, after she was stricken suddenly in her home.
Mrs. Ventry, 58, of Lower Mountain Road, was born Mary Louise Suchocki in Niagara Falls. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
She worked for 15 years as a school monitor and school bus driver for the Niagara-Wheatfield School system, retiring in 1981. Most recently, she worked part-time as a hostess for the Goose's Roost Restaurant in Niagara Falls, near the airport.
She enjoyed arts and crafts. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ransomville.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L.; two sons, Jeffrey A. of Sanborn and Kenneth R.; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Genovese and Patricia Daly-Previte; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Miller of Ransomville; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, following prayers at 9:15 in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St., Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Holy Angels Mausoleum.
