Marjory E. Pritchard, 87, a homemaker and longtime resident of Buffalo, died Sunday (Dec. 28, 1997) in the Virginia Beach, Va., home of her daughter Marion E. Deneen after a long illness.
Born in New Orleans, she and her husband, Arthur S. Pritchard, lived in Buffalo's Grider-Delavan neighborhood, where they reared their six children and became active in St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church on Grider Street.
When her husband retired as an examiner from the Ellicott Street Station of the Buffalo Post Office, the couple moved to Boynton Beach, Fla., and lived there for 20 years before moving to Virginia Beach. The couple had been married for 56 years at the time of his death in 1990.
Surviving in addition to her daughter Marion are two other daughters, Town of Tonawanda Councilwoman Jeanne C. Bartlo and Kathleen A. Wicks of Akron; three sons, David A. of Palm Springs, Fla., Charles E. of Greenville, S.C., and John T. of Lake Worth, Fla.; 26 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Friday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda. Prayers preceding the Mass will be said beginning at 8:45 in the D. Lawrence Ginnane Funeral Home, 3215 Delaware Ave., Kenmore.
Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott.
