Katherine M. Tittle, a longtime employee of the New York State Air National Guard 107th Unit in Wheatfield, died Tuesday (Dec. 30, 1997) in her Rudlen Road home under the care of Niagara Hospice after a lengthy illness. She was 77.
Mrs. Tittle was born in Smethport, Pa., and had lived in Lewiston since 1960.
She was a registered nurse before World War II and then worked at the former Bell Aircraft plant in Wheatfield during the war.
Mrs. Tittle worked as a key punch operator for the state Air National Guard 107th Unit for more than 20 years. She retired in 1987.
She enjoyed gardening, cats and Dalmatian dogs.
Her husband, Cecil L., died in 1987.
She is survived by three sons, Phillip of McDonough, Ga., Roger of Fredonia and David; a stepson, Cecil of Lewiston; two stepdaughters, Shirley of Sebring, Fla., and Debra Elmore of the Town of Tonawanda; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held.
