William H. Maloney, 80, of Orchard Park, a retired stockbroker in New York City, died Monday (Dec. 29, 1997) in Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Lackawanna, after a brief illness.
Born in Brooklyn, he was educated in Queens and worked 46 years for the Wall Street firm of Tweedy, Browne Inc., retiring in 1982 as a limited partner.
He moved in 1985 from Long Island to Orchard Park with his wife of 55 years, the former Helen M. Flaherty, to be near his youngest daughter.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Orchard Park American Legion, Buffalo State College Bengal Booster Club and Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.
He also was a fourth-degree knight and past grand knight of Council 2622, Knights of Columbus, Valley Stream, L.I.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Gail F. of Orchard Park, Helen A. Emlock of West Peabody, Mass., and Maureen M. Canary of Wilton, Conn., and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Nativity of Our Lord Church, South Buffalo Street and Thorn Avenue, Orchard Park. Burial will be in Nativity Cemetery, Orchard Park.
