A trucker was injured Tuesday after losing control of her rig on Route 17, state police said.
A tractor-trailer driven by Linda Lou Jennings, 49, of Roanoke, Texas, was heading east on Route 17 at about 1:30 p.m. when a small car passed, the trucker told police. Ms. Jennings said she lost control of the rig as she slowed down, traveling off the south shoulder and hitting guardrails.
The tractor-trailer then jackknifed and traveled to the center median, coming to rest partially in the median and on the passing lane. Troopers had to pry the cab door open to free Ms. Jennings, who was treated at the scene and then taken to WCA Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Ms. Jennings was ticketed for speed not reasonable and prudent and an unregistered motor vehicle. She is to appear in Ellery Town Court on an unspecified date.
