Irene E. Julius, 103, of Lancaster, who operated a South Buffalo auto dealership with her late husband, died Monday (Dec. 29, 1997) in Harris Hill Nursing Home after a brief illness.
Born Irene Devine in Buffalo, she attended Buffalo schools and married Albert W. Julius in 1921. She worked with her husband in the A.W. Julius Chrysler-Plymouth dealership on South Park Avenue in the 1930s. They built a new showroom on Southside Parkway in the mid-1940s and continued to operate the dealership until the mid-1950s, when they retired. He died in 1956. She enjoyed music and played the piano.
Survivors include a son, Donald of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; a daughter, Nancy Gilbert of Fort Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Amigone Funeral Home, 1132 Delaware Ave. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, East Aurora.
