AMERICANS TOP SWISS IN WORLD JUNIOR HOCKEY

Mike York scored one goal and assisted on two as Team USA beat Switzerland, 4-1, at the World Junior Hockey Championships in Helsinki, Finland. Team USA finished third in Group B, and will meet the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals today.

York, the scoring leader and an All-Star forward in last season's championships, assisted on Jesse Boulerice's opening goal in the first period. York, who plays for Michigan State, added a power-play goal at 13:11 of the third period for a 3-1 lead, and assisted on another power-play goal at 17:10 by Jeff Farkas of Williamsville.
