My wife and I have had the privilege of driving in all 50 states. We have traveled over the Golden Gate, Sunshine, New River, Seattle Pontoon, Mackinaw and Peace bridges, as well as numerous others.

They all have a chance to provide two beautiful views: the view of the bridge (if the approach provides one) and the view from atop the bridge. We enjoy the view from the bridge the most. The Peace Bridge Authority's design should provide a spectacular view looking either downstream or upstream while driving across the bridge.

The economy in Western New York and Ontario is in dire need of all possible aid, and the construction of this bridge and the extension of Route 219 will contribute to that substantially.

The possible negative effect on the nearby parks is a trade-off that must be acceptable. Both the buildings and grounds of two of the five major parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted are in substantial disrepair. The reduction in expenses to maintain LaSalle and Front parks should instead flow to improving both South Park and Cazenovia Park.

Our Canadian partners have reviewed their needs for this facility, as well as the best possible location, and have had their recommendations considered by the Bridge Authority in the design.

The efforts of all the people who have provided input are appreciated and, apparently, have been considered in the design of the proposed new bridge.

It is important that all of us unite in our efforts now to commence construction of the bridge as designed by the Peace Bridge Authority.
