Gov. Pataki is hitting the slopes.
Aides said Monday that he is vacationing with his family in Lake Placid through New Year's Day. Pataki spokeswoman Zenia Mucha said the governor also is doing state tourism promotion events while at this Adirondack Mountain resort, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics.
On Wednesday, Pataki is to participate in the opening ceremonies of the U.S. Ski Team's Gold Cup event, a pre-Olympics competition featuring some of America's top skiers, Ms. Mucha said.
