George A. Lacey, 79, a retired construction worker, died Monday (Dec. 29, 1997) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a long illness.
A native of Peakville in Delaware County, Lacey was an Army Infantry veteran of World War II, serving in Europe.
He worked on the construction of the Niagara Power Project and retired in 1972 as a member of Carpenters Union Local 280 of Lockport. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, the former Helen B. Stafford; two sons, George and Gerald Lacey, both of Ransomville; a daughter, Kathleen Britton of Sanborn; four sisters, Clara Lacey, Eleanor Kessler, Catherine Warfield and Irene Kraft, all of East Branch in Delaware County; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be private.
