An armed robber wearing a ski mask forced an office clerk to the floor and took about $350 from Budget Car and Truck Rental on Southwestern Boulevard Monday night, Orchard Park police reported today.

A police patrol car responded within a minute, and a K-9 dog managed to pick up the robber's scent and follow it to where the getaway car had dug up some gravel, Police Chief Robert C. Henning said. But that vehicle got away, toward Webster Road, without leaving any other trail.

Detective Thomas Norman and Lt. Robert Ziehm gathered physical evidence at the scene and are looking for help from anyone who may have seen the getaway car. The robbery was reported at 7:53 p.m.
