What's happening
BASEBALL: The second round of the Buffalo School of Baseball's indoor hitting leagues begins Jan. 11. Little League, high school and girls' softball teams/individuals are eligible for the nine-week league. Fee is $55. Contact Rick Lancellotti at 681-9410.

BASKETBALL: Teams needed for both Monday and Tuesday night open men's leagues which start in January. Call 839-9330.

HOCKEY: A seven-week learn-to-skate program will begin Jan. 3 at Lafayette Ice Rink in North Buffalo. Sessions run Saturdays from 11 to 11:50 p.m. Cost is $45. Call 874-6133.

RAQUETBALL: Six 2-hour lessons and opportunities to participate in local tournaments will be offered at 2 p.m. Jan. 10 in the Buffalo Athletic Club at the Eastern Hills Mall. Children ages 8-18 are eligible for the junior development program offered by the WNYRA. Cost is $30. Call Greg Maliken at 838-5860 or 857-7634.

SOCCER: The Niagara PAL Soccer Club will have final registration for the Buffalo & WNY Junior League 1998 Travel Season between noon and 3 p.m. on Jan. 10 for children ages 8-18 at 9501 Colvin Blvd. Players need a $25 deposit, a small photo and copies of their medical insurance card and birth certificate.
