A car involved in a hit-and-run accident was located Sunday afternoon, but its driver was not, Trooper David Killion said.

John H. Leturgey of 8432 East Ave., Gasport, said he was northbound on Lake Avenue, trying a right turn onto North Canal Road at 12:45 p.m. As he made the turn, another northbound car tried to pass him on the left, and nicked his front bumper. That car then took off at high speed.

Killion said a third auto, whose driver was not identified, pursued the fleeing car, and saw him flatten a stop sign and strike a guardrail as it made a turn at Slayton
Settlement and Day roads.

The car was followed to Gagliardi's Wobble Shop, 7642 Rochester Road, Royalton, where it was abandoned. Killion said the license plate was registered to a Niagara Falls man, and the investigation will
